Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade

After thirty years of watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade on TV (a tradition in our family, always accompanied by an elaborate brunch), I joined the crowd on 7th Ave & 51st Street this year.
Lots of great balloons, but this green guy was one of my favorites.
The best part - perfect weather for a long walk home afterwards, before joining friends to give thanks (and have a little turkey and pumpkin pie).

Sudden Wondrous Poetry

I am moving back to nyc in just over a week...and here is why:

"The beauty of New York rests on a completely different base. It's unintentional. It arose independent of human design, like a stalagmitic cavern. Forms which are in themselves quite ugly turn up fortuitously, without design, in such incredible surroundings that they sparkle with a sudden wondrous poetry."

The Unbearable Lightness of Being, by Milan Kundera

Finding my way back home (if such a thing can ever exist?)after two years in Morocco...

P.S. A huge thank you to the talented Lyndsay over at Beautify My Blog for making my blog so pretty!
